Behavioraltheory: Unlikethe trait theory that believes that leaders are only born and thatthey cannot be made, this theory clearly stipulates that the traitsof leadership can be taught and practiced. Concerning this theory, itis also clear that particular characteristics of the leaders canseparate the leaders from the non-leaders (Keohane,2015).

The staff isexpected to complete the work using their methods and on time. Here,the followers have a chance to participate in the decision-making ofthe organization (Schneider,et al. 2012).

Decisionmaking- thisis one of the major competencies of the effective leaders. Itdescribes the ability of the leader to make the most appropriatedecisions for their followers. Effective leaders understand thatthere are different times to make decisions and that they aresupposed to choose the most appropriate time to make their decisions.They also know when to make decisions on their own and when tocontact their counterparts on making a good decision. Appropriatedecision making can be obtained through studying and obtainingleadership experience.

Effectivecommunication- thisis a crucial aspect of effective leadership since there must beappropriate communication of commands/instructions from the leader tohis followers. Effective communication in the leadership process willresult in efficient execution that will be critical for attaining theset goals. Therefore, it is crucial that the leaders should have aneffective way to pass their instructions to the juniors.

Developingothers-it is also crucial that leaders should avoid thinking about theirself-progress and entirely think about the development of their staffand the organization at large. Typically, effective leadershipentails the development of the people rather than the growth of anindividual leader.

Displayingpurpose and drive- asa leader, one should be able to demonstrate the thirst to reach theirjoint goals so that they can motivate their followers. They are alsosupposed to be in a position to show the importance of attainingtheir goals. It is crucial that the leaders should lead by example sothat their juniors can get motivated and work towards their primarygoals as a whole.

Problemsolving-in the process of leadership, there are instances whereby someinstances of differences among the members occur. Effective leadersshould be in a position to step into the situation and solve theproblems for the advantage of their organization. This is a crucialfactor since it helps the organization to work as a unit towardsreaching their objectives (Schneider,et al. 2012).

Risktaking and making strategies- thisis an important aspect of leadership since for them to grow they aresupposed to take risks. Leaders should be in a position to assessvarious situations and take risks depending on whether the risk willbe advantageous to the company. Leaders are also expected to come upwith appropriate strategies that will help the company to achievetheir goals.
