Among other limitations of the project that were noted is the fact that it was very limited to a single unit of patients. Through varying the number of groups that the study would come up with, this would help to ensure that the various initiatives that help to ensure better patient safety outcomes are developed by the use of a multi-disciplinary action. (Allen et.al, 2005)

Professional Paper Outline

  • The topic deals with how nurses are quite effective at ensuring that the process of ensuring patient safety outcomes are well achieved as well as coming up with better problem-solving techniques.

  • This topic is of great importance to professional nursing since it helps to ensure that nurses end up achieving great levels of success through the actions that they are taking by ensuring that patients are well handled.

  • Importance of the Rapid Response Team (RRT)

  • Enables staff of the hospital to assess and stabilize the condition of patients that are found in the hospital so as to achieve great levels of patient outcomes.

  • RRT provides a better opportunity for the staff of the hospital to initiate measures that would ensure that the patient is treated and his condition is improved at such a time where it appears that the level of his health is declining.

  • The RRT collaborates with the nurse and the physician so as to come up with more measures that will ensure that the general outcomes of the patients are well outlined with a view of establishing high rates of survival of the patients.

The Continuous Improvement Committee (CIC).

  • It is made up of unit nurse leaders and clinical nurses who are tasked with coming up with strategies that would help to ensure that the activities of the RRT come to fruition.

  • The CIC developed a survey in which it aimed to assess the activities of the RRT in a bid to develop ways in which the activities could be well strengthened.

  • The findings clearly showed that about 89% of nurses had a view that the physicians were highly resistant to calling for the action of the RRT as it relates to stabilizing the condition of the patients.

Conclusion

  • Nurse-led interventions are quite important

  • Following the nurse –led interventions that were carried out by the nurses who were on the gynecological surgery unit, the results showed that there was a significant drop in the level of resistance by the physicians to the effort that was being carried out by the RRT.
