Whycare makes a man stronger

Manyhave been made to believe that their strength is demonstrated by thesize of muscles. However, trends are changing and 86 % of the men nowbelieve that the idea of masculinity and its relationship to men’sstrength has changed (Cliffs, 2015). It is only 7 % of men in themodern world associate their strength with the conventional idea ofmasculinity (Cliffs, 2015). This paper will discuss how care can makemen stronger, why the concept is significant for modern men, and itsroots.

Rootof the concept and its significance to modern men

Althoughmany men, especially those in the field of sports, uphold thestereotypical concept of masculinity, those who are able to venturein their caring side of life find caring more fulfilling andstrengthening (Poggi, 2015). Embracing the caring roles is moresatisfying because it helps men derive their strength from theirinside, instead of the muscles that can be seen by others (Poggi,2015). Therefore, strength is more about what one feels than what oneshows to the world.

Thedifficulty of men assuming the caring roles

Althoughmany men can now understand the importance of being caring dads, itis natural for them to reject the concept of caring. This is becausesome of them are still held back by the conventional definition ofmen’s strength that mainly focuses on their masculinity (Cliffs,2015). Trends show that some men either pretend to be caring or thinkthat they are caring, but their relationship fails to meet the truedefinition of caring dads (Ferguson, 2015). This is because many menfind it easy to play jokes with the children, play football, andshare food with them, but it is hard for men to become tender, caring, and emotional like the women do for their children (Ferguson,2015). However, overcoming this difficulty by wiping the tears oftheir children and being with them in both good and bad times helpmen realize the other side of being men.

Selfcare

Anothergroup of men find it difficult to demonstrate the caring behaviorbecause they are not, even able to take care of themselves. Forexample, studies have shown that 91 % of the men believe that peopleshould be able to take care of themselves for them to be able todemonstrate a caring behavior to others (Cliffs, 2015). Therefore, providing men with products that help them take care of themselves isthe most effective strategy that helps them discover the relationshipbetween strength and caring. This is because personal care enhancesone’s confidence, self-esteem, and the desire to transfer suchpositive feelings to others by taking care of them.

Conclusion

Manymen are now defining their strength on the basis of their ability totake care of others. Taking care of others enhance men’s strengthbecause it is more fulfilling.
